Warriors look to Taylor more road success

At 4-1 on the road so far this season, the Warriors look to continue that success as they visit Powell River and Cowichan Valley this weekend.

As a Vancouver Island product, it sure was awesome to catch some rays on the ferry to the Sunshine Coast earlier today.  Connor Dempsey hadn’t even seen the Pacific Ocean before.  But this team isn’t here for a photo opp.  Westside will be taking on the (currently) 2nd and 4th place teams in the coastal conference, in a couple of buildings that are tough to win in.  Somehow I wrote earlier that the Kings have been underwhelming at the Hap Parker Arena so far this year.  No way – they’re 5-0 at home.  Moreover, the Kings have allowed less goals (well, tied with Surrey but with 1 more GP) than anyone else in the BCHL.  As for Cowichan, Jim Ingram’s squad is far removed from the group that missed out on the playoffs last year.  The Caps will also be well-rested on Saturday, having not played since a loss in Victoria on Wednesday.

It will be a new-look Warriors team that hits the ice this weekend.  Rylan Ferster has added former Silverback (and Saskatchewan native) Taylor Fauchoux to the WW roster.  Fauchoux began this season in the SJHL before moving to the MJHL.  Check out his numbers:
