Morse incoming

All these moves up front, and you had to wonder if Coach Ferster would make a move on the back end.

Because honestly, this team has … won … five in a row.

But hey – if you have a chance to make your team better, you do it right?

Ferster jumped at that chance today, picking up 18 year-old defenceman Spencer Morse.  Morse is a pretty tall, slender, ranging D-man who started the season in Vernon after playing the previous season in WHL Moose Jaw.

Morse will arrive tonight, and presumably play this weekend.  And there’s no need to make room for him, because Brennan Clark has been moved to the injury reserve.  His upper-body injury is a weird one, and tough to say when he’ll be back.  Jaden Schmeisser, on the other hand, is now skating, and may return next weekend for that coastal road trip.

So – Rylan Ferster and the staff will have some decisions to make in the coming weeks, but have the cupboards jammed full of goodies in the meantime.

I spoke with Coach Ferster on Wedneday.  That interview (runs 2:30) here.
